About Us

The Round Table of the Commonwealth countries in the Dominican Republic is an organization with the objective to promote bilateral relations between the Dominican Republic and the 54 countries of the Commonwealth in the world.

Our organization was founded on June 22nd of 2002 by ambassadors David Ward, Bruno Picard and John Woods of Britain, Canada and Australia respectively, as well the presidents of the binational chambers Rosalinda Thomas, Enrique Marchena, Jay Nasar and Fernando Gonzalez Nicolas of Britain, Canada, India and Trinidad respectively.

Among the founding members are Scotiabank, Unilever, Shell, Commonwealth Development Corporation, CDC, Consorcio Comercial del Caribe the New Zealand Milk Board and senator Ginette Bournigal.

Are active members of the Round Table amount others Compañía de Electricidad de San Pedro de Macorís, JMMB BDI América, Empresa de Electricidad Haina, Barrick Pueblo Viejo, Orange, Generadora San Felipe, Grupo Vicini.

Presently the Round Table represents in Dominican Republic, the Commonwealth Business Council, CBC and the Royal Commonwealth Society, RCS in London.

Locally the Round Table has signed collaboration agreements with the Dominican Exporters Association, ADOEXPO, and the Dominican Agribusiness Board, JAD.
